In October of 1986, Angelina Velez boldly stepped out on a venture that would become her legacy. She started with a ten-table restaurant in Eastvale, Texas. As the Tex Mex recipes gained a reputation of being some of the best in town, the need to expand became necessary.
She and her family worked tirelessly to keep up with the demand. In roughly a decade, Angelina’s Restaurant would have outgrown two locations in The Colony before landing a permanent home overlooking Lake Lewisville on Main Street, adding a second location in Flower Mound, now named Cristina’s after one of Angelina’s granddaughter’s and opening a third location in Lewisville. Angelina’s in Lewisville was later passed on to her eldest son, Louis Jr.
Louis Jr.’s location in Lewisville still carries the tradition it began with. It holds a colorful and comfortable atmosphere, uses the freshest ingredients and great service done the family way. Louis Jr. and his wife, Isabel added a second location in Corinth, Texas.
After serving the community there for close to 15 years they along with their children decided it was time to step out boldly as Angelina did in 1986 and again in 1999 when she built Angelina’s Don Francisco’s in The Colony and build a restaurant from the ground up in Hickory Creek, Texas. Angelina’s Don Louis opened its doors in December of 2020. This modern location is complete with beautiful décor, a rooftop bar and dinning space, fresh original recipes and staff ready to serve.
